The main theme, written by Rolf Kent, was performed by Rolf Kent. In the realm of cinematography and screenwriting, it is recommended to limit the character narrative, allowing the actions, dialogues and scenes to speak for themselves. However, if there is an exception, it is called Dexter! From the very beginning, I found myself drawn to the character of Dexter – a dark, introverted individual.
Seasons 1 and 2 were outstanding, earning a commendable 9/10
The strength of the character development was evident, supported by impeccable casting and a compelling, crime-filled story. However, the quality of the show began to decline after that. The introduction of new characters and excessive drama weighed heavily on what was once a classic series. Despite my love for the character, I felt that his charm, including that of Debra, was gradually diminishing.
It was extremely fascinating
The writing and direction are strong, but Dexter himself stood out as the towering centerpiece, as his portrayal of black humor was a standout feature. His narration in the episodes was a unique perspective from which we learned how he perceives things, people, and crimes. I recommend this series, but I urge viewers to approach it at their own pace and choose how many seasons they want to commit to. However, I must emphasize that the first two seasons are a must-watch and should not be missed.
